Originally Utah was my training grounds, being a place with such great ski resorts so close to an international airport, I felt like it was the best place to reach my goals. Although the dream of becoming a professional athlete fizzled to a mere weekend warrior, I found another passion for photography and a new dream of becoming a physician assistant. The U provides the academics for both medical and photography as well as such beautiful landscapes for practice, I couldn't have found a better school to graduate.
One of my hidden talents is art. Since kindergarten I've been told that art is my thing and that I should keep it going. I don't get to draw or paint as much as I'd like to but every once and a while I will do something.
This will be my second time taking Visual Communications because I did not get what I wanted out of it the first time around. This is such an interesting subject, and although it is a requirement for me I wanted to try taking it again when I'm not taking a bunch of Biology courses. I know this course is a lot about the meaning behind photos and other visuals, but I want to have a better understanding of what aspects of the visuals pertain to what parts of our understanding. Basically psychologically what is the meaning or intention behind what we are looking at and how to apply this to our work. I have an associates degree in Marketing and felt that this class was very helpful with the particular part of marketing I enjoyed most, the visuals. I'm excited to take this all in.
